That shift from “not my problem” to “I can do something” is a big one, and you showed it in a simple, real way. Funny how picking up a bit of rubbish can turn into a full mindset reset. Makes you look at your own habits a bit differently.
It really does come down to the Spider-Man philosophy of great power = great responsibility.
Obviously we don't have supernatural abilities, but when we have the power to change something, and decide to look the other way, we become partiality responsible.
I loved teaching the Spider-Man graphic novels. I know which side I am on. (Yes, Nader, and the Green Party). Is that person making changes or making excuses? I intend to live the former.
This is such an inspiring article! It really made me think, and has motivated me to Be Greater! I agree, sometimes people get overwhelmed by the idea to make the world a better place you have to have this insane amount of power, talent, or opportunity. Like you said though, the simplest acts can change the world. That in itself is truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing your work and continuing to inspire many! You're making the world a better place!
I love this! I have recently been finding similar channels (e.g., people cleaning up their local rivers from fish that destroy the ecosystem), and these actions always make my day. You're absolutely right; if we want to live in a better world, we have to want to be better ourselves. Looking forward to more of your work!
This is wonderful. And I’m curious about your YouTube. I’ve had one for years. It was like a holding cell for my old journalism reels and acting projects. Then I started posting my podcast and other content about ways to be kind to the mind. We need more good stuff. Looking forward to seeing what you’re sharing.
Thank you! I am combining YouTube, writing, and other socials into one movement with the same theme. Be greater. At first I thought I had to pick a lane and stay in it perfectly, but then I decided to tie everything together into a movement and try to influence the world in a positive direction :)

There's a paper by Campbell Jones on "Who's Meant to recycle?" That I think you'd absolutely love.
